Good stuff, including your "testimony" (there's an interesting word in this context).
Anyway, Pascal's recommendation is solid not only spiritually but also psychologically. The concept is called cognitive dissonance, and it basically means that behavior has at least as much influence on thoughts, attitudes, and feelings as vice-versa. This is also a prominent part of 12-Step recovery programs, under the rubric "fake it 'til ya make it."
Regarding Mark Shea's comments, if one is not "walking with the Lord" during the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, I don't when one would be.
On Hahn, I think his issue here has to do with the fact that Roman Catholicism has, incorrectly IMHO, overly emphasized the distinction between Scripture and the rest of the Tradition. Much of what is at the heart of the apostolic faith is only easily found in Scripture in when is aware of the Tradition as a whole.
Just my non-chalcedonian $0.02...
It seems that this hyper-apologetical approach is alive and well within American Orthodoxy, I suppose largely in imitation of the modern RC stuff. And I unfortunately I think it creates a sort of convert version of Orthodoxy: very doctrinaire, very anti-western, very artificial, and full of cliches about the nature of Orthodoxy which are only as old as the Second World War.
There are very good people involved in this approach, don't get me wrong: but at its worst it does produce a kind of cocksure, pugnacious "ugly American" convert, even when such pride is enveloped in sophisticated theological blather, like one finds on certain of the intellectual Orthodox blogs.

Within both sets of apologists mentioned above, there are people who come from similar Protestant backgrounds: highly intellectual and confessionally Calvinist.
