The Sarabite: Towards an Aesthetic Christianity

There is a continuous attraction, beginning with God, going to the world, and ending at last with God, an attraction which returns to the same place where it began as though in a kind of circle. -Marsilio Ficino

Human Nature

O men, when you consider the universe, you are comprehending your own nature!

Arturo, I read this quote when I checked your blog after I read your post over on Cornell Society's Blog.

I've been thinking about it a lot. It's amazing to think that this is what God has created us to be... and yet we are so small in comparison. It's quite a paradox. It reminds me of a line from the hymn "Gift of Finest Wheat" - "Whom all the world cannot contain comes in our hearts to dwell." How can this be and yet it happens.

Thanks for the post and the reminder of mystery.
