A Near Hiatus
Dear Readers,
Finishing up school, work, looking for a real job, and other considerations are forcing me to cut back on the attention I pay to this blog. Please only expect two or three posts a week from here on out. Once I land a job where it looks like I won't have to wait tables right after I finish my degree, I expect to be able to pick up a more desired pace to my posting. God bless and keep me in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Arturo Vasquez

Good luck with the job hunt! I'm also thinking of getting a part time job during my semestral break. :)
Could you possibly email me? I have some personal things I'd like to talk about that I think you may be able to help with.

What are you doing with your Latin American Studies degree? I assume it's a BA, or is it an MA or PhD? I only ask because I'm graduating in a couple of months myself with a BA in History and Classical Studies, and I need ideas... :-)
Matt,
It's a B.A. And I really don't know yet.
All I know is that you can't knock the hustle.
Holla.
You can get a job in a Rappers crew. I would say Too Short since you are by Oakland. You could discuss the theology of the body of the last Pope vis a vis some of his lyrics.
You could do the Compton and Long Beach thang with Snoop.
Or you get with Jay Z (the favorite of Bishop Williamson) and hang in the Beyonce crew.
Take a well deserved rest. You are brilliant so the job will come--or you can be a ballah and shot caller. We will miss your frequencey. God Bless--We will pray for you.
Friends of the Archangel
Arturo,
Is graduate school out of the picture for you?
Also, another question: I was recently told by the professor of a class I'm in (Colonial Latin American History) that all primary-source documents about the appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe are suspicious at best, and the earliest trustworthy documents are from the mid-17th century, so the whole thing probably never happened. What's your take on this?
Anon.
Oh hell no!
You are asking the wrong guy. For a guy of Mexican descent, that's worse than saying that God doesn't exist...
What is the saying?
Mexico is 85% Catholic and 110% Guadalupano.
