It reminds me of one of Duns Scotus' arguments for the Immaculate Conception. in which he says he would rather advocate the position that the Virgin was indeed sinless at her conception rather than advocate one that fell short of her dignity as the Mother of God. The logic might not be too good on that one, but he might be onto something.
"Exaggeration" may be a four letter word when it comes to faith. When we really think about it, is not the wonder of the Cross and the Resurrection of the magnitude that anything else is a mundane fact by comparison?
