The Sarabite: Towards an Aesthetic Christianity

There is a continuous attraction, beginning with God, going to the world, and ending at last with God, an attraction which returns to the same place where it began as though in a kind of circle. -Marsilio Ficino

More Ear Candy

It's been a while since I have recommended a CD, so here is one I just stumbled on tonight during a much needed trip to the record store. It has been out for some years, but since it is of music by some obscure composers from the French Baroque period, I don't know if it got much press. It is a recording of cantatas for soprano and baritone by de Blamont, Clerambault, and Stuck. Gorgeous stuff, and real cheap since they don't have any "big names" on it (Lully, Rameau, etc.) Click here for more information.
