The Sarabite: Towards an Aesthetic Christianity

There is a continuous attraction, beginning with God, going to the world, and ending at last with God, an attraction which returns to the same place where it began as though in a kind of circle. -Marsilio Ficino

And If You Thought YOU Were Eccentric...

You obviously haven't seen this: Glenn Gould playing Bach. Jaw-dropping!

Wonderful!

Though there's something irresistibly suggestive of Tom Waits with technique (and a load of bennies), circa 1980.

JSB supplies a fair proportion of the limited light in The Undercroft. Protestant counterpoint, to relieve the violent morbidity of Gesualdo.

Lol -- the Tom Waits reference is spot on, except Tom lacks the talent! (Hey, I still like a lot of Tom's stuff, but he ain't no Bach or even Glenn Gould.)

I think Johan would have approved of Gould's play, even if it is on a pianoforte!
